What You’ll Learn

Over five transformative days, you’ll be guided through traditional Ayurvedic techniques for both face and body, including:

Ayurvedic Body Therapy Training Module

1. Abhyanga – Full-Body Ayurvedic Massage

Abhyanga is one of the most renowned therapies in Ayurveda — a deeply nourishing, full-body massage using warm herbal oils specifically selected according to each individual’s dosha (body constitution). This ancient practice promotes balance, rejuvenation, and detoxification through rhythmic strokes that enhance circulation and lymphatic flow.

In this training, students will learn:

  • The principles of Ayurvedic body types (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and appropriate oil selection.

  • Traditional Abhyanga massage techniques, including stroke direction, pressure, and sequencing.

  • Benefits of Abhyanga for nervous system relaxation, improved skin health, joint mobility, and energy balance.

  • Proper setup, preparation of oils, client consultation, and post-treatment care.

Abhyanga not only rejuvenates the body but also calms the mind, grounding the practitioner and client in deep relaxation and inner harmony.

2. Marma Point Therapy – Energy Points of the Body and Face

Marma points are vital energy centers located throughout the body — intersections of muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, and joints — where prana (life force) flows. Stimulating these points through gentle touch, pressure, or massage activates healing responses, releases energy blockages, and restores balance to the physical and subtle body systems.

In this module, students will learn:

  • How to apply Marma therapy safely during massage or facial treatments.

  • Techniques to balance energy flow, support organ function, and enhance mental clarity.

  • Integration of Marma therapy with other Ayurvedic treatments for holistic results.

Special focus will be given to Marma points on the face and head for promoting relaxation, emotional release, and rejuvenation.

3. Herbal Compress Therapy – Bolus Treatments (Pinda Sweda)

Herbal Compress Therapy, or Pinda Sweda, is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment that combines the therapeutic benefits of heat, massage, and medicinal herbs. Warm compresses (boluses) filled with specific herbal blends are applied to the body to relieve stiffness, improve circulation, and nourish the tissues.

In this segment, students will learn:

  • Preparation of herbal boluses using appropriate herbs, oils, and binding materials.

  • Various methods of heating and applying the compress safely.

  • Indications and contraindications for different body types and health conditions.

  • Techniques to integrate compress therapy with Abhyanga or Marma treatments for enhanced therapeutic results.

This therapy is especially effective for relieving muscle pain, arthritis, joint stiffness, and general fatigue while leaving the skin soft and revitalized.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training module, participants will:

  • Understand Ayurvedic principles of body energy and constitution.

  • Perform full-body Abhyanga with correct technique and confidence.

  • Identify and work with key Marma points for healing and rejuvenation.
